Farming on this property began in 1899 with John and Molly Kanak who lovingly raised their 11 children amongst the beauty of the Virginia countryside. It remained in the Kanak family until 2016, at which time extensive renovations brought it to an elegant standard for modern weddings. With the capacity to host up to 200 guests, the property features 10 barns, six silos, a farmhouse, and a cottage, and on-site bridal boutique, among other spaces. The well-appointed farmhouse and cottage are available for the wedding party to relax and complete their final preparations in style. Each fully-restored barn possesses its own ambience. Host outdoor nuptials at the Ceremony Barn with its classic red cladding as a backdrop. An indoor ceremony can be held in The Metal Barn whose white cloth draping gives it an ethereal feel. White-washed metal and huge barn doors make this room bright and airy. The Reception Barn features warm wood beams and columns with elegant chandeliers and bistro lights hanging from its vaulted ceilings. Other features include an outdoor fire pit, a bridge, fountain, pool, and covered patios. The Barns of Kanak also offers a bridal boutique to make your formalwear shopping experience convenient and fun. Offering bridal gowns as well as tuxedos and suits for rent or purchase, Leora Bridal is located on the property to allow for easy rental returns after the wedding.
